THE STORY

Fazenda Mariano has been a family-owned coffee farm since 1909, founded by Manoel Barbosa Junqueira as a small property located on the São Domingos Mountain.

The know-how of coffee production has been passed down from generation to generation, so the farm is currently run by the Barbosa brothers, Henrique and Ricardo, who are Manoel’s sons and have made great strides in terms of coffee quality and sustainability.

Today the farm has more than 20 tanks of water contention, the employees have great quality of life at the Farm’s houses, and their kids have access to the school. Fazenda Mariano is constantly improving, always seeking the quality of coffee in accordance with the environment and human rights.

This coffee is harvested from June to September and hand-picked at its peak ripeness. The cherries are then floated and selected for pulping. Finally, they are dried in patios for 20 days until a moisture level of 10% is reached.
